This year we will fix our gaze upon Christ so that we may know him, not only with our minds, but with our hearts. Together we will learn that who Jesus is changes everything.

Hello and welcome back to a brand new day on a year in the Bible with Daily Grace.

My name is Katie and I'm walking through the New Testament in a year alongside you.

We are currently in the book of Acts and today we will tackle Acts 11.

You know how some TV shows will begin with a quick recap that starts by saying,

Previously on, Blank.

Well, today, we are going to do the same thing quickly before we dive in so that we can better understand today's chapter.

So today, previously on the Book of Acts. So far in Acts, we have

read about the early Christian church growing at rapid speed, headquartered in Jerusalem. But the

persecution and the stoning of Stephen happening in Jerusalem caused Jewish believers to scatter

through Palestine and even beyond. A few key people we will read about

today are Peter, a disciple whom Jesus deemed the rock of his church, Saul, a Pharisee who met Jesus

and turned his life around to spread the gospel, and Barnabas, also known as the son of encouragement

who is also faithful to share Jesus. And yesterday,

something huge happened. The Holy Spirit showed Peter, through a man named Cornelius, that

salvation is not only for the Jews, but for the Gentiles. As we see today, the good news of

salvation will only continue to spread, the name of jesus will continue

to be magnified this is not a separate work of christ's ministry this is a continuation

jesus is still as alive as ever working through the holy spirit in the disciples ministry

just as he is working in our lives today.
