But all of that said, today we are in Psalm 11, highlighting the importance of remembering to praise and give thanks to the Lord.

And in this Psalm, we'll see three to four different sections.

In verse one,

really an intro and call to praise. Verses two through four, an encouragement to remember the works

of the Lord, verses five through eight, focusing on God's faithfulness, and verses nine through

ten will specifically be honing in on God's faithfulness to his covenant. Now, when I think about remembering

to do something, I'm reminded of a specific chore, and that chore is watering the plants. As I've mentioned

before in this podcast, I live with a host family, a family that's here members here at Watermark,

and I've lived with them for a couple years now. It's been such a sweet gift and blessing. But in the last several months, so really the last year, we've done some remodeling at the

house, and since then, have started updating the front yard. And part of this update involved

adding new plants. But because the house had been under construction for so long, it had been a long

time since there were any plants in the front yard, and especially a long time since any plants in the front yard were in need of water.

It had pretty much up until recently been a dirt pit. And as I'm sure many of you can imagine,

when you get out of the habit of doing something, it can be challenging to jump back into the

swing of things, especially after many months when this chore was no longer

necessary. And what we found with these new plants, imagine this, is that if you go too long without

watering them, as all of you educated, listeners know, they will die if they're not watered. And if we
