Join the Journey Jr. Now we are going to jump straight into Psalm 97. And so if you listen to

as this Psalm is pretty similar to Psalm 96.

Psalm 97 is also an enthronement psalm.

Means that it's highlighting the reign of God.

And so if I were to sum up Psalm 97 in one sentence, it would be this.

The Lord reigns, and so we worship him. Before you read the text, I want to give a little

preface. I think when we read the Bible, it can be easy for us to see things that are familiar or

recognize something we've read before and then think, oh yeah, yeah, I know that God reigns. I've got it.

Like, let's keep moving and get to the parts

that I don't actually know as well. But today, I really want to invite us to just sit in the

reality that God reigns. And I know you've probably heard that before, that God is all powerful,

that he rules over all, but I really just want us to sit and reflect on what it means that

God reigns and how that impacts every aspect of our life.

Verse one is really the foundation of this passage, and the rest of the Psalm is going to build

off of it. It says, the Lord reigns. Let the earth rejoice. Let the many coastlands be glad. And there's so much here,
