Summary

Where is God in our suffering? In today’s episode, Emma Dotter unpacks Psalm 44 and how we should respond when bad things continue to happen in our lives. Even when we are faithful in pursuing God and obeying Him, life may still not go our way. At the end of the episode, Emma draws hope from Paul in Romans 8, when he references this psalm to encourage believers that in Christ and His love, we are secure and will see ultimate victory.

Additional Scripture mentioned in the episode:
Romans 8:31-39, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?...”

concerned. So I pull over, look at the manual, figure out that this brake

warning light either meant that the brakes on my car were having a major malfunction or that I

need more brake fluid. And so after a quick Google search, I determined that this isn't the

kind of warning light you want to ignore. So I pull into the dentist and decide, hey, I'll deal with

this after. But I'm so late to the dentist So I pull into the dentist and decide, hey, I'll deal with this after.

But I'm so late to the dentist that I can't be seen, and I had to pay a $40 fee for missing my

appointment. So I go back out to my potentially broken car, and as I'm backing out, I kid you not,

I hit a pillar in the parking lot, which is so embarrassing. Luckily, not too hard.

It was just a tiny scratch, but I'm frustrated.

I've got this brake light situation.

I had to pay this fee, and now I have literally hit a stationary pillar in a parking garage.

So I drive to AutoZone to go pick up some brake fluid, hoping this will fix the problem, and then I go to the repair shop,
