Summary

When we hear the phrase, “be still” oftentimes, we can read that as “don’t take action” or “don’t move." But what does this phrase mean regarding Scripture? Today, Hannah Staubs from the Watermark Institute interviews Watermark member, Justin Powell. Justin shares that being still before the Lord is more of a heart issue than an action issue. Being still before the Lord is a daily choice to surrender to God.

 Additional Scriptures in the Podcast:
Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God…”
1 Samuel 30, Story of David’s men, and the capturing of their families.
Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve,
Luke 19:10, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.”
Exodus 14:14-15, “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent. The Lord said to Moses, ‘Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward.’”

Luke 22, Jesus in the garden saying, “Not my will by yours be done…”

I remember first time I met Justin was in a meeting and you're telling us about the website

and then you were like, I'm actually moving on to something really awesome. And so Justin, tell us a little bit about that. How'd you come to know the Lord and

And then we moved a company from Austin and Dallas in 2010, and really it was

1:13.3

after seeking my own glory fulfillment in success and business that God showed me emptiness in that,

and he really revealed my need for him. And after some years of longing for change, it was through the porch and young
