0:11.0	This year we will fix our gaze upon Christ so that we may know
0:14.9	him, not only with our minds but with our hearts. Together we will learn that
0:19.1	who Jesus is changes everything. Hello friends welcome back to a year in the Bible of Daily Grace.
0:26.0	My name is Katie and together we are walking through the New Testament in a year.
0:30.0	Currently we are studying 1st Corinthians and today we will be in 1st
0:34.5	Corinthians 12th. As always you can follow along with the behold studies in the
0:38.5	Daily Grace Coast Shop or with a reading plan linked in the show notes.
0:41.7	So far in 1st Corinthians we have seen a few
0:45.2	patterns to Paul's instruction that may help us understand the character of the
0:48.9	Corinthian believers. First they were divided in preference of teachers.
0:54.0	They valued things of the world like passion and eloquence.
0:58.0	Next, we saw a desire to take advantage of Christian liberties,
1:02.0	perhaps without considering others within the church.
1:05.6	And yesterday we saw that the rich in the church were eating the Lord's supper first and
1:10.5	leaving little for the poor to participate.
1:13.0	We see a church divided in pride and distracted by the things of the world.
1:18.0	Today, Paul addresses another issue included in the letter to the Corinthians, spiritual gifts.
1:25.5	Some members of the Corinthian Church seem to have been flaunting their spiritual gifts
1:30.0	as better than others, which likely made others feel less important and less value.
1:35.8	I think we can relate to this today.
