We know God spoke through prophets in the Old Testament, and then Jesus in the New Testament, but how does God lead us today? In today’s podcast, Hannah Staubs from the Watermark Institute explains that God stays the same, but also speaks through his Word and His people.

| 0:42.0 | But today we're jumping into Psalm chapter 5. When we look at Psalms, it's important to note that |
| 0:46.8 | there are actually different kinds of Psalms. And this can really help you as you read and |
| 0:51.8 | study the book of Psalms. This is a great Bible study tool. |
| 0:54.7 | For example, you may be reading a psalm and you'll notice that there's something positive in |
| 0:59.2 | nature. You may think, oh man, this is such an uplifting and encouraging passage. But upon |
| 1:04.4 | further exploration, as you continue to read, you not only find that it's positive, but it's a |
| 1:09.0 | Psalm of Thanksgiving. Thank thanking God for an answered |
| 1:11.5 | prayer, even deepening your love for that psalm through understanding the type of psalm it's supposed to be. |
| 1:17.2 | Or you may find a really positive verse at the end of a psalm of lament. And so in a way, that can even |
| 1:23.6 | more intensify the beauty of the verse, seeing that they are praising God in light of something |
| 1:29.8 | really, really painful. While studying in the Watermark Institute, we talked about eight different |
| 1:34.3 | types of Psalms. Psalms of lament, which presents a troubled situation to the Lord. Psalms of praise, |
| 1:40.0 | calling believers to admire God's attributes. Psalms of Thanksgiving, thanking God for an answer to prayer, |
