Prince Caspian continued.

0:11.5

Friends, welcome to the Pints with Jack Weekly Podcast, where David and I have the distinct

0:16.7

privilege of enjoying a drink together, unpacking the writings of C.S. Lewis and discovering the

0:21.8

truth and beauty of Christianity. We went through the first part of Prince Caspian last week,

0:27.3

and this week we get the joy of the second part where we're going to be able to not only finish

0:32.2

the summary of it going through the chapters, but David and I will get a good chance to talk about

0:36.5

today the big major themes. So when we off the two strands of our story had just come together we'd been listening

0:43.6

to trumpkin's story and we'd heard about how prince caspian had been on the run for his life how he had

0:50.6

found old narnia how they began to gather together to prepare to fight king mirrors how they had blown queen Narnia, how they began to gather together, to prepare, to fight King

0:56.0

Mera's, how they had blown Queen Susan's horn.

0:59.0

1:12.4

something along those lines. So while Trumpkin seems to understand that, yes, the Horn did bring

1:19.5

these children in, they're just children. And so he doesn't think they're going to be much help.

1:24.8

And I've got a little bit of comic relief as Trumpkin is humiliated in

1:28.9

swordplay by Edmund and his use for bow by Susan. And after he gets hurt, Lucy heals him with

1:35.7

some of her cordial. So he gets a little crash course in seeing how these children, how the

1:40.2

pevencies, might actually be rather useful to their cause. And now I can answer to what I thought of Trumpkin.

1:47.1

I remember now thinking this, that I really liked him because he had this kind of cockiness to

1:54.5

him, assuredness, and he was completely humiliated and proved wrong.

1:57.6

And you know what?
