The care and generosity you've shared is heartwarming and so clearly coming from a place of deep respect for the non-speakers and the work that we're all pursuing collectively.

I've done my best to share what I've learned. and I'm so grateful for the new questions that beget deeper exploration. So let's dive in. So this first question is from Kimberly, who has a minimally verbal son, and she's been working on getting him spelling, and she's gotten him a spelling coach, and has signed him up for various courses, but he's very reluctant to spell at home. And she's wondering if there's any advice to help him to spell more regularly. And Kimberly, I think there's an army of people who are going to be really able to advise you on this. And one of the things I'm excited about is we're going to start bringing non-speakers into our studios, along with their parent or their CRP, to start giving advice on

stuff like this.

And I'm not a parent of a non-speaker, so I've never sat in your shoes.

And for that reason alone, I don't feel as equipped as them to give you an answer.

But I will echo what many parents have told me.

And for one, this is not rare that non-speakers might work with a coach or a CRP more fluidly, effortlessly than they will with their parents.

And for what I understand, there's many reasons for that.

But one is that parents care so much.

It's hard to completely, like, detach ourselves from that process.

You know, there takes so much a clearing of the mind and making yourself just open and present and completely accessible for almost the non-speaker to kind of regulate through you.

And I think that takes a lot of time and patience.
