It's time to reopen the file called Hello, Ms. Cobell.

Last time, Milchick had just put Mark on the severed elevator.

Milchick is standing ominously in the lobby as the elevator doors are about to close.

We get another double zali this time with a twist.

As the switch begins, we cut to a point of view shot looking through Mark's eye.

The pupil completely closes to black. There's a reverse angle looking through Mark's eye. The pupil completely closes to black.

Cut to Mark's face and we're back on the severed floor.

The first time I saw this added part of the transition, I was thinking it had something to do with reintegration.

Nope. What they're showing us is the

pupil reset that happens each time a severed worker rides the elevator. The pupil closes

completely and perception goes to full black. Ragabi will explain the importance of this a couple

of episodes from now. When the elevator opens, Mark is back on the severed floor.

A new, very large painting has been installed on the far wall. We'll learn this one is entitled,

Keir, pardons his betrayers. At first look, it doesn't seem like a lot of pardoning is happening.
