I am your guide, Derek Hayes.

Here we go with another thrill-filled episode.

And this week we're making a trip to one of the most beautiful parts of the country,

the PNW, the Pacific Northwest. More specifically, Washington State.

That's right, each of tonight's entries originate out of the Evergreen State. And it won't take

long for you to realize that Washington is a weird and wacky place.

And to light the fires and kick the tires here this evening, we start with a gnarly one.

Hi, Derek. This is Anne-R-R-R-A from Washington. I was just listening to Season 19, Episode 21,

and I heard Ian's story about driving past like a construction site and seeing a man with a hole in his face or,

you know, kind of blown off or this dark indent where his face was supposed to be.

And it brought to mind an incident that I had when I was a young child, maybe five or six years old,

and I was visiting my grandmother's house with my cousin.

And she lives off the Washington coast, like right on the beach.

It was a very small neighborhood in a small town.

And so we were walking down the road.

There was not a lot of people around, and it was kind of one of those situations where the neighbors knew who everyone was.

And so everyone visiting the family at that time felt very safe, just kind of letting a couple, like, five, six-year-old girls,
