Today, we head back to the Psalms.

These four Psalms celebrate the kingship of our great God.

Each one focuses on an aspect of his royal character.

Specifically, we will celebrate his kingship over creation, the majesty of his kingship,

his victory, and his holiness.

As our time in Second Samuel and the life of David draws to an end,

these Psalms are a great reminder of the overarching themes we've seen throughout First and Second Samuel,

the themes of kingship and covenant.

These Psalms celebrate God and Jesus Christ as the better king and keeper of all promises.

David served well, but a greater, more perfect king was always the plan.

King Jesus, who sits on the Davidic throne forever.

We begin today with Psalm 95.

As we saw yesterday with David's great confidence in the Lord,

the unknown Psalmist continues writing in confidence concerning God's kingship over all of creation.

This historical Psalm celebrates God's greatness over the depths of the earth to the heights of the mountains from the seas to the dry land.

1:59.0

We come to him and bow in worship because we too are his creation.
