0:28.8	Tiffany here, and today we study all four of the gospel accounts to better understand
0:34.8	the role of John the Baptist and his proclamation about Jesus.
0:40.4	These four accounts will show us great cohesion in the truth of John's message, and each one
0:46.2	will provide us with unique details to give us a thorough picture of these events.
0:52.3	Just as the prophets did before him, John prepared the way for the Messiah through his
0:56.9	message of repentance.
0:59.8	We won't walk through each gospel account individually today, instead we will chat through
1:04.8	the overlapping truths across all four.
1:08.3	Mention the additional details each account adds, and explain some of the pertinent cultural

1:15.2	But before we get to that, I want to briefly provide some context about the gospel of
1:20.9	Mark, since this is our first day in that book.
1:25.7	Mark, also known as John Mark, was close friends with the Apostles Paul and Peter.
1:32.2	He traveled with Paul in the early part of his missionary journeys, and he stayed with
1:36.4	Peter in Rome while Peter was in prison.
