0:29.2	Tiffany here, and today we are taking a look at Matthew 23 and Luke 20.
0:35.6	Much of Luke 20 recounts the same events we covered yesterday in Matthew and Mark.
0:41.6	So today, we will cover what we didn't get to yesterday and spend most of our time in
0:47.1	Matthew 23.
0:49.4	In this chapter, we will see Jesus' condemnation of the hypocrisy from the scribes and Pharisees.
0:56.5	His words will serve as a warning for those who go through the motions religiously, but
1:01.8	don't ever experience true heart change.
1:05.5	But first, let's take a quick look at Luke 20 verses 41 through 47, which were also in
1:12.8	Matthew 22 and Mark 12 yesterday.
1:16.9	In this conversation, Jesus asks the religious leaders who the Messiah will come from.
1:23.9	They answer that he is the son of David.
1:27.6	This wasn't a wrong answer from these men, but they were misguided in their understanding.
1:33.9	King David was revered among the Jewish people as a great warrior, and they believed that
1:39.2	the Messiah would be just like him, and set them free from the tyranny of Rome.
