Welcome back to our journey through the book of Leviticus and our Eden to Eternity podcast.

Today, we come to Leviticus 16 through 18 and we have a lot of ground to cover, so let's

go ahead and dive in.

You know, it can be easy to breeze by chapter 16 as we read through Leviticus.

At first glance, it can seem like just another sacrificial service with a lot of rules and

regulations, but the day of atonement was the most holy day of the year for Israel.

But more importantly, this holy day foreshadowed all that Jesus came to the earth to do on

The day of atonement occurred one day each year.

Its purpose is found in the final verse of the chapter when God says, this is to be

a permanent statute for you to make atonement for the Israelites once a year because of all

In order to hold back the wrath of God, atonement had to be made for the sin of the nation.
