0:29.5	Today, we continue our journey through the Upper Room Discourse in John 14 through 17.
0:36.8	We began yesterday with John 13 when Jesus washed the feet of his disciples, and today
0:43.5	we continue with Jesus' final teachings to the disciples.
0:48.5	One way to think about this moment in the Upper Room is to consider the final instructions
0:53.9	of a coach before the big game, or a team meeting before the start of a conference, or
1:00.4	my favorite behavior instructions to your kids before entering a public space.
1:06.5	In each case, there is an urgency and the desire to share as much information as possible.
1:14.4	We see Jesus do this on this last night before he goes to the cross, and he shares his final
1:21.4	instructions to equip the disciples for the future.
1:26.3	But it's important to remember that these instructions are recorded for us as well.
1:32.8	As followers of Christ, we take these teachings from the Upper Room to heart.
1:38.4	Jesus lays the foundation of truth, and how we are called to live, and later in the New
1:44.8	Testament, authors like John, Paul, and Peter led by the Holy Spirit further explain
1:51.8	these truths.
