0:34.9	We come to Genesis 28 through 30 and our focus now shifts to the life of Jacob as the
0:41.6	nation God promised to Abraham begins to take shape.
0:46.2	As we study the events surrounding Jacob's life, we will continue to see him struggle
0:50.8	with his trust in God and God's promises.
0:54.1	Sadly, his default is to bargain, lie and manipulate.
0:59.4	But like his grandfather and father before him, his path of sanctification will teach us
1:04.7	how to trust in God's covenant promises as well.
1:09.3	We ended yesterday with Esau's great anger toward Jacob after he had been blessed by Isaac.
1:16.0	In his anger, Esau desired to kill his brother.
1:19.8	But we see Rebecca intervene once again and remind Isaac of their great dislike of Esau's
1:26.4	canonite wives.
1:28.4	In this way, Rebecca manipulates her husband to send Jacob away for his protection under
1:34.2	the disguise of finding a wife from her family.
1:39.0	Isaac sends Jacob away to find the house of Laban.
