Summary

Glenn "Lenny" Hustin was 30 years old when he disappeared from his Middleton, Michigan apartment in 2001. With the assistance of a frustrated police department, Lenny's family has spent the past two decades searching for him. Lenny's parents are now gone, but his sisters continue the search despite threats and intimidation from locals. They believe one man in particular, a man Lenny trusted with his life, holds the answers. And they have vowed not to back down until he comes clean.

I hope this post finds you all safe and sane. It has been just about a month now since Michigan has officially been canceled and life as we know it right along with it. But time marches on. And here's something. This Friday, I will turn 40. The big 4-0. I cannot believe I'm saying that out loud. There was supposed to be a big surprise party. Surprise. And I was supposed to get all of the presents like the giant spoiled breath that I am.

Alas, that is not to be.

And that whole thing honestly just feels so unimportant now in the grand scheme of things.

All I really want is my health, the health of my loved ones, the health of all of you,

1:08.6

and for this unimaginable nightmare to be over. But 40 years, that is a

1:15.0

milestone. And to spend it quarantined in the midst of a global pandemic, you know, I am certainly

1:22.9

not going to forget this birthday. But today, I want to talk to you guys about someone else's birthday. On April, I'm going to forget this birthday, but today I want to talk to you guys about someone else's birthday.

On April 28, Glenn Richard Houston Jr., Lenny, as his family calls him, will turn 50 years old,

1:40.0

and his family would love nothing more than to celebrate his special day with him,

1:44.3

albeit from a safe distance, but they can't because Lenny has been missing since 2001.

1:52.1

Before we get into this one, I want to tell you how I first heard about the disappearance of

1:56.4

Lenny Houston. My buddy, Kate Saxton, who lives very near where Lenny went missing, brought this

2:02.8

story to my attention as kind of like a, hey, here's the true crime story from my hometown.

2:08.4

You should look into it, which I get those a lot, but then Kate looked into it. She started

2:16.5

asking people around town about Lenny. She got in touch with his family.

2:21.4

She did a ton of research and she actually arranged a meeting for me with Lenny's sisters,

2:27.5

which that is something that I have not done before. I met with a family before doing the research and doing a story for a case.

2:37.5

And it was intense.

2:39.9

It was sad.
