Summary
In tonight's dead letter, we head into Grafton, West Virginia β a small railroad town built on a B&O junction, Civil War supply lines, and two national cemeteries. The house at the center of this story sat right in the middle of all that history. When a listener named Jonathan moved in with his family as a kid, it was, as he puts it, just off β and the footsteps upstairs were the easy part. Small things kept stacking up, the kind you could maybe almost explain away one at a time but never all together. Decades later he's still working through what happened in that house, and what stayed there.

| 1:22.4 | Well, this next story that comes to us is a bit of a, I guess Scott would call it a quiet story. |
| 1:23.1 | Yes, yes. Is that because nothing dramatically major happens or? |
| 1:26.7 | Well, it's just an ongoing milieu of things that are equally interesting. |

| 1:38.3 | But, you know, it's not, you know, the poltergeist where you open the door and things are |

| 2:03.7 | When it's that level, then you have a problem. Yeah. It's time to call someone. Who are you going to call? My point is that, you know, the house I grew up in, small things have happened throughout the years, but just a handful. Yeah. That were just slightly odd. The story we're about to tell, even though you might consider it a quiet story in that, yeah, there's no maybe a huge swirling room of the children's toys and clamping monkeys |
| 2:12.4 | and this and that, there's enough there where this is a lot more than what went on at my, |

| 2:20.6 | Yes, that's true. |
| 2:21.2 | There's definitely something going on there that is out of the ordinary. |
