Tonight we're headed to the shores of the Mystic River, specifically Chelsea, Massachusetts.

Right across the water from Boston. And wasn't that a movie, Mystic River? Yeah, there was. Sean Penn.

But this one here, this area right across from Boston, it's one of those densely packed, deeply

historic New England cities where the architecture has outlived generations of its inhabitants.

Exactly.

Chelsea was originally settled back in 1624, so you got four centuries of human triumph,

tragedy, and daily routine layered directly on top of each other. It's an industrial city

that's literally burned to the ground and been rebuilt, most notably during the great Chelsea fire

of 1908, which leveled a massive portion of the town. But when you walk the streets there,

or you look at these old multifamily structures, you're sharing space with a very heavy history,
