My name is Tiffany and I want to spend a few minutes with you every day walking through

the Bible chronologically.

Together, we will explore God's sovereign plan as the events of Scripture unfold and

point to Jesus.

Tiffany here and today we come to Deuteronomy 13-15.

Perhaps the best way to describe today's chapters is to use the word distinct.

God's chosen people were called to be distinct among the pagan nations of Canaan.

Their love for Him was to be undeniable to those around them.

When they entered the land, their behavior was to portray a nation that was holy and

set apart just as God was holy.

As we work through these chapters that provide specific stipulations for the nation, we will

see how God called the nation to have no other gods before Him through their distinct

behavior.

These statutes and ordinances aren't new to us.

We've read many of them in various chapters in Leviticus, but we want to remember these

commands were originally shared with the first generation around the foot of Mount Sinai.

And though they were to be passed down, Moses is sharing them with this second generation

before they enter the Promised Land.
