0:53.5	The Book of Acts is the sequel to the gospel of Luke.
0:57.2	It was written by Luke the physician, and addressed once again to theophilus.
1:03.1	Acts is the only historical narrative book in the New Testament, and it helps provide structure
1:09.2	to the many events that occur within early church history, and serves as a bridge between
1:15.3	the gospels and the epistles.
1:18.8	Jesus covers over 30 years of history, and mentions the events surrounding Peter and Paul
1:25.3	the most.
1:27.0	Through the recording of many speeches, Luke shares how the gospel went out in the years
1:33.0	after Christ's ascension.
1:35.3	We study two such speeches today.
