And today we're going to look at another woman from recent history, Edith Schaefer.

So thanks for coming back with us, Carol.

Okay, Carol, so Edith Schaefer is someone I didn't know about until actually hearing about her from you,

but I knew her husband, Francis Schaefer.

And actually, our producer, Cheryl Kay, went to LaBrie when she was in college.

So I had heard about LaBrie.

Start us out in Edith's life.

Where did Edith Schaefer start, grow up, all that sort of thing? Well, you're going to see some amazing parallels here between Ruth Bell Graham and Edith Schaefer.

So Edith Schaefer was also a child of China Inland missionary parents. And her dad was also a medical doctor.

And he was just the most delightful person as well.

Edith was raised in a very cultured, literary home, very, very similar to Ruth Bell Graham.

Edith came home and was at a, I think a youth group, let's call it that,

maybe college and career group, and in Philadelphia. And she was sitting in the audience and
