Our guest today on the Strong Women podcast is Carrie Severino.

She's the president of Judicial Crisis Network, which was founded to make sure that appointed judges have someone to defend them in the public square.

This organization also advocates for judges who uphold the Constitution and the rule of law, which we're

going to get into more with Kerry later on in this episode, what that actually means. She is a co-author

with Molly Hemingway, which we also interviewed Molly really early on in our podcast. She was

episode four, so go back and listen to that.

But anyway, she and Molly wrote a book. It was a bestselling book called Justice on Trial,

the Kavanaugh Confirmation, and the future of the court. So we're going to talk a lot with

Carrie today about the Supreme Court and the importance of it and how to understand it and all

that stuff. So I think you'll find this episode really helpful. She also clerked for Clarence Thomas.

And she and her husband, Roger, who is the Vice President at Heritage Foundation, have been

married for 18 years. They live in Northern Virginia. They have six children.

Great to be here. Thanks for having me. Carrie, can you tell our listeners just about where you started,

the kind of home you grew up in as a kid, where you grew up,

and anything like that? Yeah, so I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, West Michigan. I had a

younger brother who was three years younger. And my parents were both in the medical profession.

My dad was a doctor. My mom was a nurse. I spent most of my life thinking I was going to be a doctor
