Why should we learn about women in history? Historian Glenn Sunshine returns to the podcast today to help us answer that question, as well as shares with us about Sorghaghtani Beki (1190-1252), an Eastern woman from a Mongol tribe who became known as the Mother of Great Khans. She encouraged trade and cultural exchange, believed in religious freedom, had great charity for the poor, and taught her sons to rule justly. Sorghaghtani was very influential for her time and place.
We chatted with Glenn at Wilberforce Weekend. Access to Wilberforce Weekend Online is out now at wilberforceweekend.org.
