Everybody, what is going on? You know what time it is. You're listening to join the Journey podcast with your host, Emma Daughter.

0:08.8

Thanks for joining. Today, we're reading Joshua 15, the longest chapter in the book, arguably the most boring chapter in the book, and also likely one of the most overlooked, but still significant chapters in the book of Joshua.

0:22.8

And it may seem boring, but it gives us 63 really important verses.

0:28.3

That said, I know chapters like this one can make it more challenging to regularly get in the word

0:32.8

and be excited about doing so.

0:35.0

I wanted to let you all know that if you're struggling to stay on track

0:38.3

with the reading plan and are therefore in need of some added accountability or reminders,

0:43.1

there's a feature in the Join app that allows you to receive daily reminders to get in the

0:47.3

word. Download the app, open it, tap the gear in the top right corner, and then tap the switch

0:52.4

to turn reminders on. My phone defaulted

0:55.3

to reminding me at 7 a.m. But if you tap the small time that's listed, you can choose when you'll

1:01.6

be reminded to get in the word. Okay, all that said, today we're reading the longest chapter in

1:07.1

the book of Joshua, chapter 15. It's a lot of lists and names and places. What is the

1:13.4

significance for us today? When I was growing up for my middle school and high school years,

1:18.1

we lived in a house with a somewhat larger yard. And this yard was really interesting. If you were

1:23.3

standing on the back porch, the right side, it had a fence, really, it was the neighbor's fence.

1:27.8

The back of the yard didn't have a fence, but there was this rock embankment that generally

1:32.5

separated our yard from the other neighborhood we backed up to. And then there was the left side

1:36.8

of the yard. No fence. And because the yard was pretty big, the back left portion was more like

1:42.9

a green belt. And my dad thought it would be fun

1:45.5

for us kids if he built a little walking trail. It was a loop, and he lined the small loops path

1:51.1

with rocks and filled the path with gravel. As kids, we thought this was super fun. We'd play
