One evening in April 2008, I found myself sitting in a morgue, not really an unusual situation

for an investigator like me, but this particular morgue was very deteriorated.

It had not been in use for years and was not open to the public.

Sitting with a small group of other investigators we started doing EVP work in the dark, and after

a few questions we played back our recordings.

To our surprise, we heard a voice answering us, a female voice.

It was faint and what she was saying was hard to decipher, but it was most definitely

a woman.

This was what surprised us, because we were sitting in the morgue of one of the most notorious

prisons in the world, a prison that only housed a male population.

We were sitting in the morgue of Alcatraz.
