Summary

Cameron Jay puts together a timeline reflective of 2020— with new information from sources, the Baker family, and friends who have reached out. New details are emerging as we start to look closely at Tara's inner circle of loved ones, friends, coworkers, and classmates. Cameron also speaks with Joe Johnson, former reporter on the case for the Athens Banner-Herald. Joe became close with the case and Tara's family and shares his insights on developments— or lack thereof, in the investigation over the years. I'm Cameron Jay, and here we are, y'all back to classic city crime. I'm Cameron Jay and here we are y'all already at episode six of the Tara Baker story and I'm not exaggerating when I tell you just how much information I've garnered over just this last week.

emphatically agreed to do an interview just this week, reminding me that they would do,

1:33.9

quote, anything to help with this case, yet one day later, the day they were going to interview,

1:39.9

they decided they could no longer participate either.

1:43.1

Now, like I've said over and over again in this podcast,

1:45.8

I do try to be understanding of law enforcement stance on this issue.

1:50.0

This is an ongoing investigation, and there are details the police need to hold close to their chest.

1:55.7

But I was hoping that maybe after 20 years there might be some willingness to try a new method, to seek new answers

together. It's why I reached out to them from day one, and that was, it seems so far, wishful

thinking. If you're listening, PD and former investigators, you know this. The invitation
