Hello, and welcome to the Eagle and Child, the hallow pub of the Inklings.

This is a podcast where, each week, my friend Matt and I share a beer and discuss the writings of the author

known to the world as Clive Staples Lewis, or C.S. Lewis, or just as Jack to his friends.

My name is David, and today we come to chapter four of book one of mere Christianity,

and it's entitled, What Lies Behind the Law? The end of book one is now in sight. And as always,

I'm joined by my fellow honorary inkling, Matt. I don't know if I'd consider myself an honorary

inkling, but potentially a wannabe inkling. Going back to Virtue and Vice is probably a fine line

that I'll leave it up to the listeners to decide.

But it is a pleasure to be here, and I'm looking forward to working through chapter four.

In this chapter, Lewis will finally make the jump from the moral law to God.
