0:34.8	who's about to send one of her sons off to college for the first time.
0:38.8	Things are changing by the day and as a college counselor I felt a little bit like a Debbie
0:45.0	downer for the past few months because I do not feel great about colleges bringing kids back to campus this fall, honestly, and I was very skeptical
0:58.4	that it was going to be able to happen. Universities and colleges and colleges are starting to announce their plans for the fall as we
1:08.3	record this episode.
1:10.4	And some may change their plans again in the coming weeks,
1:13.5	but it's clear that many schools will welcome students back to campus this fall,
1:18.0	at least in some form.
1:20.0	Allison says she understands why people want to get back to campus.
1:25.0	We're paying a lot of money and our kids are really excited and they've worked really, really hard and they want to go to college
1:31.0	where they have that campus experience, which is so much a part of the college experience.
1:37.0	But that experience, whatever it looks like, is going to sound pretty strange to anyone who's been a freshman living on campus.
1:46.4	Oliver Sun's classes will be online.
1:48.9	All sports have been cancelled.
1:50.7	No clubs, no social events.
1:53.0	But he will get to live in a dorm.
1:55.0	He will have the experience of a communal bathroom,
1:58.0	which I'm not sure is a bonus,
2:00.0	and he will get to meet some of the administrators and the staff of his residential college at his college.
2:10.0	And that's about it. And as a parent, Allison has another motivation to send her son a way to college during a pandemic,
