Severed Origin series. It's a look at those things. Dan Erickson has mentioned as being

inspiration during his creation of severance. Let's get right back into it. This is part

two of our breakdown of the fantasy comedy sci-fi drama from writer Charlie Kaufman

and director Spike Jones called Being John Malkovich from 1999.

We've got a door to go through refiner, and it's a very tiny door.

It's time to once again open the severed origins file called Being John Malkovich.

When we last left, puppeteer turned file clerk Craig Schwartz. He dropped a file behind a big cabinet in the

Lester Corp long-term file storage area. When he moved the cabinet, he revealed a painted panel. Behind the

panel was a door. It was maybe three feet high and looked very old. The knob was the old cut

glass style. With very little turning, Craig is able to open the door. When the

camera cuts to a view looking back from inside the passage, a deep thrumming can be heard. It

sounds like distant machinery. This sound reminded me a little of what we hear in the Severance

hallways, going to both the break room and the elevator to the testing floor.

If you look at the side walls of the passage, it looks earthen, like it's a tunnel dug into the ground. Craig cautiously pokes a head in. There are some continuity issues here. When we cut to
