Hello again story club members. I'm Ivy, your ghostly host with the most, and the keeper of the strangest, spookiest tales on earth.

Today's chilling tale comes from my beloved eight-year-old listener, Ethan. Ethan's spooky story is about moving to a new house, a very old house, a house with creaking floors, swinging chairs,

and something waiting in the dark that looked almost friendly at first, but only at first.

creeps. Once there was a girl named Jenny, Jenny loved her home in Texas. Gosh, she loved her

room, her neighborhood, and all the familiar things that made life feel safe and happy.

She loved her friends.

She even loved seeing the mailman with his funny little mustache every day, as he'd greet

her with a silly hello.

Mail call, I've got a letter a smile and a hello with your name on it, he'd chuckle.

So when Jenny's parents told her they had to move all the way to Atlanta because of her dad's job,

while Jenny felt like her whole world had been packed into boxes and taken away from her.

Her mom tried to comfort her.

It'll be an adventure, she said reassuringly.

But Jenny didn't want an adventure. She wanted her home.

The long car ride to Atlanta felt endless. Her dad focused on driving and work calls. Her mom

pointed out interesting things along the way, like Caddo Lake State Park and the Barber

Vintage Motorsports Museum. But Jenny only stared out the window feeling

desolate. After what felt like an interminable drive, Jenny and her parents arrived. Jenny looked

up at her new house in the Ansley Park section of Atlanta and felt her stomach drop. Her new

house was enormous, but it was also old, crooked-looking.
