I'm Ivy, your ghostly host with the most and keeper of the strangest,

spookiest tales on earth.

Today is another Ivy's chilling tale.

The story we have for you today was inspired by my beloved listener bear aged 6.

It's called Spooked Woods.

Once upon a time there was a shy boy who lived on the edge of some woods.

But these weren't just any ordinary woods.

They were called the spooked woods, for legend has it they were haunted.

With what? No one could really say. But the boy's parents always

forbid him from ever entering the woods, and he always listened. But one day the boy heard

something, a whisper, a voice, and it was calling out to him from somewhere deep in the woods.

Was it calling out for help or saying

something else? The boy swore the voice was saying his name. Oh, but it was hard to hear.

Now, the boy knew he wasn't supposed to go into the woods under any circumstances, but his curiosity

got the better of him, and he decided to trek out to find the truth.

He grabbed his backpack and put a flashlight, a hat, an axe, and some snacks inside it,

for he didn't know how long he'd be gone, but he knew he had to find out what was calling to him from the woods.

The boy walked into spooked woods, and a shiver went down his back.

A cool, gray mist hung around between the crackling black trees.

It certainly felt like these woods were spooked, but the boy was brave.

He wasn't going to sit idly by anymore.
