It's time for the second installment of our breakdown of "Office Space." The hilariously dry 1999 comedy was an influence on Dan Erickson as he was creating "Severance." That's why we're breaking it down as part of the "Severed: Origins" series.

This time, Refiners, we'll be finishing up "Office Space." We've got a lot of ground to cover!! We meet 'the Bobs', Peter and Samir get fired, Tom gets hit by a truck and "Superman III" swoops in to save the day...kinda. Peter and Joanna get together not in small part due to their shared love of the 1972-74 David Carridine TV series "Kung Fu." Grab your red stapler and don't tell Milton he's been fired. It's time for the conclusion of "Severed: Origins" breakdown of "Office Space."

0:21.9	Alan S. You've landed in the middle of Severed Origins as we continue to break down the
0:27.5	1999 comedy Office Space. Dan Erickson called it an inspiration, so we had to check it out.
0:34.1	As always, egregious, horrific spoilers are ahead for the 1999 movie Office Space. If you want to

0:47.1	got all that out of the way, refiners, it's time to reopen the R-rated file called Office Space.
0:53.7	Last time, we just finished up a disastrous visit with Dr. Swanson noted clinical hypnotherapist.
1:01.1	The good doctor had taken our hero, Peter Gibbons, to the absolute lowest levels of deep
1:06.5	relaxation. Peter was seeing the good doctor because he hated his job.
1:12.1	Just as Doc was about to snap his fingers to wake Peter up, he had a monumental heart issue. Doc died and without bringing
1:19.0	Peter back from the depths of total uncaring relaxation. This time out, we open on an alarm clock
1:25.9	that reads 7.59. It's Saturday the morning after Peter was hypnotized and the day he's supposed to be pulling an extra shift at work. The West clocks clicks over eight and goes off. He needs to hustle if he's going to get himself in by nine. Peter opens his eyes and yawns. He doesn't turn off the alarm, but he does ignore it
1:46.0	and goes back to sleep. We do a dissolve for time to a phone ringing. Uh-oh, it's Bill.
1:53.8	Yeah, hi, it's Bill Lumberg. It's about 10 o'clock. He's just wondering where Peter is.
2:02.0	Peter doesn't move.
2:03.6	We get a montage of Peter sleeping and Lumberg leaving messages.
2:07.3	When Peter does finally get himself out of bed, there are 17 messages blinking on Peter's very 1999-era answering machine.
2:16.5	Listening to Peter Clear the messages is pretty funny.
2:20.4	Yeah, hi, it's Bill Lumber. Yeah, it's, yeah, hi, it's Bill Lumber. Yeah, it's me again.
2:28.0	I was away from my desk for a bit. As Peter is calmly making his way through Lumberg's messages,
