Hello there, Story Club members.

I'm Ivy, your ghostly host with the most and keeper of the strangest,

spookiest tales on earth.

Today is another Ivy's chilling tale.

This ghostly account, Story Club members members might make you stay out of abandoned

playgrounds forever. It's one I call Merry Ghost Round. So after I recorded my last Ivy's

Chilling Tales podcast, my friends Willow Yates, Autumn Nash, and Lance Jackson all came over to my parents' house to our typical basement gathering.

If you recall, the four of us took a vote and appointed me as president of the R.L. Stein Story Club,

because we were such big fans of the famous author. The whole world needs to know about R. L.

Stein's Story Club, where he shares all the stories that he's never told before.

It's my job, along with my friends from Grimsbridge Junior High in Grimsbridge, Washington,

to keep the love for scary stories alive and fulfill my role as president of the Arl Stein Story Club.

Today, though, Willow has something on her mind as we're munching microwave pizza and burritos

and washing it down with cream soda and root beers.

I'm telling you, Willow said, that place is haunted.

I was riding by there on my bike just after sunset and I heard kids laughing.

But there was nobody there, and the merry-go-round was spinning all on its own.

What Willow was talking about is the old Grimsbridge Grammar School.

It had sat empty for about a decade after the school district built a new grammar school on the other side of town.

The old school, which was about a hundred years old, was a dingy red brick building that had literal bats in the belfry.

The place was a little eerie, especially at night.

Then a mysterious fire caught there several weeks ago, and they still haven't removed the structure.
