Hello again, Story Club members. I'm Ivy, your ghostly host with the most and keeper of the

strangest, spookiest tales on earth. Today is another Ivy's chilling tale. This sharp-edged

tale story club members might make you stay out of gardens

forever. It's one I call leather ed. Seriously, Gail, can't we stop for a break already?

There's a cool place up ahead I want to show you, Angie. We can break there. My best friend, Gail Walker, wanted to go on a day hike.

It was April and beautiful out with all the birds singing and bees buzzing around flowers.

A few dragonflies darted and hovered in the blue sky like miniature military helicopters or something.

We'd packed sandwiches, water, and plenty of juice boxes, and decided to

check out the countryside outside of town. I'd only moved here in the winter, and I called

Gail my best friend, but truthfully, she was my only friend. I was listening to this new podcast,

Posey Flynn sings, in my earbuds. I'm kind of obsessed with it. I started singing

along to an episode I've re-listened to at least a million times. Would you stop that awful

singing? Gayle begged. We're almost to the spot and you do not sound like Posey Flynn, I promise.

Take those stupid things out of your ears so you can hear. I popped out my white ear pods and tucked them back into their case, snapping the lid closed.

I don't hear anything.

Exactly, you dope. It's tomb quiet in this area. You would have noticed it if you hadn't been rocking out over there by yourself.

We'd come off the trail out of the woods into this glen. It was surrounded by a rock wall that

was about four feet high. Inside the wall, all kinds of overgrown plants and flowers were thriving.

They were different than the foliage on our walk. Some of the most colorful blood-red flowers I'd ever seen.

And there was something else strange.

Standing inside this area, which had to be a few acres in circumference, there was no sound.
