Today is another Ivy's chilling tale.

This terrifying tale story club members might make you check the back seat of your car.

It's an urban legend I call Highbeams.

Lori Braxton and her mom were driving back home from the movie late.

They'd gone to see the new musical, West Side Story, and hadn't realized the runtime was so long.

They wouldn't be home until almost midnight. Lorry was

tired, and so she started to drift off into sleep. What's his problem? Her mom said, waking

Lori up with a snap. When Lori opened her eyes, a bright light bathed the back of her mother's head.

She turned. A pickup truck behind them had its high beams on. Then they dimmed.

This driver just hit me with his brights, her mom said anxiously. And he's been tailgating me.

Maybe he wants something. I don't want anything that jerk has to offer. Ugh, and I'm almost out

a guess. I'm going to have to stop at the station.

I hope it's still open. Lorry settled into her seat again. She wasn't tired now. The excitement of

what was going on had given her a surge of adrenaline. The high beams hit them from the rear again.

What is that crazy nut doing? Mom, I'm scared. It's okay, baby. I'm gonna pull off.

The truck kept following close behind, flashing its high beams. Mom, there's the station. It's open.

As they pulled into the gas station, the pickup truck started to follow them, then quickly roared off.

Hoof, mom, at least he's gone.

The station attendant came out of the store.
