this sickly little tale is for you. Eva Miller was tired. She was planning on spending the night

at her best friend's birthday party, but unfortunately, she had to call her mom to come over and pick her up.

Eva had another one of her dreaded headaches that was bordering on a migraine.

By the time her mom had pulled up to the house, the headlights from the car were blinding.

Ava had a special medication she took for her horrible headaches, which would require her to sleep while the medicine helped the pain to go away.

Her jackrassal terry or Drexel was in the car. He cozied up to her, knowing she wasn't feeling

well. Drexel licked her face and hands, and his breath smelled like the jerky treats her mom had

given him earlier. As they drove home, her mom was listening to the radio. The voice from the

newscaster penetrated her aching brain like an ice pick. Her mom was always listening

to the radio, often singing along to songs. Thankfully, that wasn't the case tonight.

Ava didn't think she could handle her mom's off-case singing at the moment. The news announced

her reported that a convict had escaped from the local penitentiary and that he was at large.
