Gina Price was studying for a math test but couldn't focus because of a buzzing fly

As she tried to work out some difficult division problems the pesky insect kept landing on her hand her hair and then her face

It's as if the flying bug was

trying to get her attention, or daring her to swat at it. Oh, you want to play? Gina thought,

well, I've got something for you. She rose from the dining room table and sauntered into the kitchen.

That's where her mom kept the fly swatter. Gina waited for the fly to show up and land, but of course when she was ready for the prey she hunted, it didn't appear.

In the next room, droned the sound of a movie.

Her parents were watching something fun in the TV room.

She wished she could join them, but she had to pass this test as she'd flunked the last one and was on academic probation.
