On May 25, 2022 in Sanneval County, New Mexico, police arrested Robert

Jesse Strand. The arrest came from a tip from the National Center for missing and exploited

children regarding images that were on the man's phone. What made this case even more shocking

was that Strand was a detective with the Sandoval County Sheriff's

Office. A Sandoval County Sheriff's deputies accused of possessing child pornography. Robert Strand

was arrested after the Attorney General's office says investigators found images of child

sexual abuse on his electronic devices. The AG's internet crimes against children unit launched an investigation after it received tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Investigators say that some of the images depicted infants being abused.

An in-and-a-daid, Strand admitted saw the images, but says he deleted them from his phone.

He is charged with child sexual exploitation.
