secretly I'm a huge fan of comedy and comedians you wouldn't believe how many times

I've been to a stand-up show how how many times over the past, gosh I don't know, 40 years, 45 years, I've found myself sitting

in front of a television in a live show, taking in a television and a live show taking in a comedian and just marveling at the performance.

And how many comedians I've actually seen?

How many comedians in their heyday? How many comedians as the sun is setting on their career that I've seen?

I've seen everybody from Carlin to Pryor to Eddie Murphy to Damon Wayans.

I can't tell you how many I've seen live in person.

There's one though that I never got to see in person,

and one that we're going to talk about today, one that died really in his hey day, and one

that our guest, who's not the first psychic medium we've ever had on the program, has had the

pleasure of making contact with on the

other side. One that all of the comedians that I've just named have cited as

their inspiration, their muse, the one that got them into the game,

particularly Richard Pryor and George Carlin. I'm talking about Lenny Bruce, the same man who's inspired not only

just comedians, but inspired rock bands, inspired philosophers,

inspired major people of our day

to put them into their art.

We'll talk about what it was about Lenny Bruce, who at his time, in his time was considered

obscene, who was considered a pariah, really.

But when we look at him through today's eyes is considered not only a rebel but considered a person who's in the forefront of free speech, a person who changed the landscape, not only of comedy,

but changed the landscape of free speech as we know it. Yet you'd be surprised what he says now from the other side. We'll talk
