Pastor, tell us just a little bit about your story.

Well, thank you so much, Jenny, for having me. My name is Richmonde-Wandera. I come from a country called Uganda.

This is a small country in East Africa.

About 40 million people call this place home and I am one of them.

My story really started as an ordinary young boy in a fairly large family of six siblings.

I had a loving father, a loving mother.

We were as one and it looked like our future was bright

until I was eight years old.

When I was eight years old. When I was eight years old,

the unthinkable happened.

My father was murdered, and he was murdered

in the presence of my mom.

So on that single day, it seemed like I'd lost both my parents.

My father was gone physically, but my mom,

she wasn't the same.

See, before my father's passing, my mother was

the kind of woman you called when you're having a bad day, you know, she could talk your ear off and she had such positive energy, but after the loss of my dog, she just became the quietest question and life was to take a massive time after our landlord kicked us out of the house knowing that we could not afford to pay the rent.
