I saw the tweet from John Arnold of Arnold Ventures,

who said, I fear we're watching a city collapse through the vicious cycle of irresponsible

governance, severe budget pressure, higher taxes and worse services, the tax base shrinking

and causing more severe budget pressure.

The problems are so deep and so many decades in the making that even a Daniel Lurie-type mayor can't fix it,

mayors keep promising they will and leave office deeply unpopular because they don't have the levers to stop the cycle.
