I want to open this hour, and I wish to dissent from the zeitgeist of the right now.

Look, I've been a good team player for weeks.

You can't say I haven't said nice stuff.

I just think we should rethink something. If you got my morning email, you probably know what I'm going to say. I don't think we need to invade Chicago with the National Guard. I dissent. Hear me out on this. I agree with what the president wants to do. And I think he means well by it. I don't think he's a fascist. I don't think he wants to be a dictator.

I do think that J.B. Pritzker and the president have a long history. They don't like each other.

And he's happy to needle Pritzker. But I actually do think the president wants to show that he can meaningfully solve problems in Chicago that the Democrats have failed to do.

And it's a stunning contrast as he's picking up black and Hispanic voters around the country as they have shifted to the right.

I just think that he wants to show that he can solve the crime problem that neither Pritzker nor the idiot mayor of Chicago have bothered to solve.

And I do think, by the way, if we're really honest, I really do believe that a number of

Democrats in the United States fundamentally believe that crime is just something you deal with.
