Last night police received multiple calls at 6.11 to an address in Bidic Drive.

The number of calls were considerable and were assessed and it was later revealed that shops were being fired.

It is our understanding and I can confirm that a man known as Jake Davidson aged 22 had murdered a woman at an address in Bidic Drive using a firearm.

I've had this growing sense of an ease for a long time since before I started working on the series.

It's sort of like a low grade buzz.

Davidson shot and killed his mother. He then went on to the road and fired again killing three-year-old Sophie Martin and her father Lee.

I think it comes from the fact that we're constantly exposed to extreme violence and misogyny.

Whether we realise it or not, the gunman then headed into a nearby park shooting and injuring another man and woman.

In the park he killed 59-year-old Stephen Washington before heading to Henderson Place where he shot his fifth victim, 66-year-old Kate Sheppard, who later died in hospital.

The weird thing is you get used to it. It sort of blends in with the background so you don't notice it.

It becomes white noise and most of the time you just tune it out.

It was here that the gunman then shot himself and was declared dead at the scene.

Once in a while something like the fan attack happens and you notice it again.
