I want to stick with this theme on the ivies because of some data I've gotten. I saw this come across on social media from John Arnold of the John Arnold Foundation and the co-chair of Arnold Ventures.

And there's actually corroborating data to go with this. Forbes has surveyed managers with hiring authority. When asked whether they

are more or less likely to hire people from universities now than they were five years ago,

here's what we got. Managers are 33% less likely to hire from the ivies now.

42% more likely to hire from public universities and 37% more likely to hire from selective universities.

This again from Forbes.

So 33% of those say who have hiring decision power say they're less likely to hire from the Ivies and 42% more likely to hire from state universities. Now what are these other universities that they're likely to hire from, these so-called selective private universities?

Well, those are private universities that are not inside the Ivy League or the Ivy Plus.

So the Ivy Plus are Stanford, MIT, Duke, the University of Chicago, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Penn, Columbia, Dartmouth, and Cornell.
