And that is where I want to begin the show today.

It is important, I think, that we talk about Thanksgiving because the history of

Western civilization is about thanksgivings. There have been thanksgivings in this country

well before the Civil War, well before the Pilgrims set foot.

You know, most famously in 1621, the Pilgrims at Plymouth, got together with the local Indian tribes and celebrated a Thanksgiving.

But as we know, in May of 1541, Coronado near Amarillo, Texas had the first Thanksgiving.

We can document historically in the Western Hemisphere, and they had been going on for a while in Europe.
