At the border, a mother and child drowned crossing the Rio Grande.

CBS News was the first to run a story blaming Texas for the deaths of this mother and child.

The Biden administration also blamed Texas.

They ran it up the flagpole.

It became a national news story that this mother and child crossing the Rio Grande died drowned because Texas would not allow the Department of Homeland Security and the Border Patrol to assist the distressed family.
