Friends, welcome back to the Old Fashion on Purpose podcast.

So one of the themes that has really been resonating with me over the last year or so,

and it was really kind of prompted by the writing of my upcoming book, was this concept

that there's more to the Old Fashion skills that you and I love than meets the eye.

And we come into this lifestyle of homesteading or Old Fashion on Purpose with this desire

for maybe homegrown tomatoes or sourdough bread or one lived in the country and have our

chickens.

But I think what most of us realize as we progress on this journey that those are just

the beginning and it's really the gateway because something much, much deeper and much,

much more beautiful, even more beautiful than sourdough bread, which I think is pretty

substantial.

And so a big piece of that that I've really been sinking into over the last few months

and years even is just this connection to nature through the garden.

The garden is more than just what we harvest and I'm learning more about the soil and

more about our connection to plants and how we have this mutually beneficial relationship.

And so I've been really fascinated by that and I wanted to get into that deeper today.
