About This Episode:
In this episode, I speak with Bill Dermody from HK about the complexities of firearm selection and the critical role of training for self-defense.
Bill shares his journey into the firearms industry, highlighting his passion that led him to HK and the recent launch of the CC9 pistol, targeting the micro-compact segment. We discuss the importance of reliable everyday carry equipment and the necessity of continuous training, urging listeners to seek quality instruction beyond basic concealed carry permit requirements. Bill emphasizes scenario-based training and the draw-to-first-shot framework as essential for real-life preparedness.
He also shares insights on HK's culture of quality and employee training initiatives. Finally, we explore various conferences, including the Guardian Conference, as opportunities for both enthusiasts and novice shooters to enhance their skills. The conversation reinforces that preparation and ongoing education are vital for personal safety and effective self-defense.

0:50.3

Anyway, we're going to be talking about some guns today as well as general preparation

0:56.9

and things that we need to consider or do preparing ourselves for that day with Bill here.

1:03.8

So looking forward to that. But first, let's talk a couple of sponsor messages. You've probably

1:08.5

guessed it. HK is one of those. I could have Bill pitch's

1:12.7

When we talk about that day preparation, you want the best quality gear that you can have

1:25.1

1:28.3

equipment. It's enough to worry about yourself and your skill, your ability to perform yourself,

1:34.4

but you don't want anything hindering you or holding you back. So that's why I choose HK pistols.
